Performs journey-level professional work obtaining, compiling, evaluating, and reporting statistical data; performs related work as is required.
Work Examples
Performs professional research statistical work and uses information obtained to plan, develop, or improve programs.
Performs special research in connection with advanced statistical problems; determines types, sources, and methods of obtaining data; designs questionnaires and determines distribution; corrects, adjusts, and interprets statistical data according to accepted formulas.
Prepares or directs preparation of comprehensive statistical evaluation reports and recommendations based on reports.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, political science, or public administration and experience equal to two years of full-time work in statistical analysis or economic research.
A total of six years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where one year of full-time experience equals 30 semester hours of education (maximum substitution of four years).
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, epidemiology, economics, public policy, public affairs, public administration, or business analytics.
Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes 18 months of full-time work as a Statistical Research Analyst 1.
