Capitol Complex Buildings are open to the general public during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no special badges or identification needed. Visitor parking is available in lots throughout the area.
State of Iowa employees must have access identification badges and parking permit decals or credentials while on the Capitol Complex.
Employee Access, Parking Credentials, and State Identification Cards
The Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise (DAS-HRE) issues building access identification cards and parking decals for Executive Branch employees whose offices are on the Capitol Complex. DAS also issues state identification cards needed for outside business or travel at a cost of $5.
Iowa Capitol Complex Access Requests
For Executive Branch agencies, access requests for your personnel should be completed through the Iowa Capitol Complex Badge & Parking form.
When applicable, please email a photo to DasBadgePark@iowa.gov to complete your request.

Mondays: 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Tuesdays: 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Thursdays: 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Fridays: 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
If you are an employee in the Legislative or Judicial Branch, please complete this alternate form and email it to DasBadgePark@iowa.gov. Your application will then be forwarded to the Legislative Security Coordinator for processing.
For Parking Decals Only
For parking decals only, you may complete the Capitol Complex Badge & Parking Request form above an the parking decal will be mailed back to you through interoffice mail or available for pick up within 48 hours at DAS-HRE.
Lost or Replacement Badges
If your badge is lost, please immediately notify DAS-HRE via DasBadgePark@iowa.gov, so DAS can deactivate the card. To receive a replacement card, you will need to fill out the ID access form and pay a $10 fee to DAS on the 3rd floor of the Hoover Building.
