State of Iowa Learning Management System

State of Iowa Employees should enroll online for PDS courses through the Learning Management System (LMS). The Department of Administration uses Learnsoft as our LMS. Course enrollment is managed and training records are housed in this platform.

Log in

  • State employees within Workday will access the LMS through Okta
  • State employees not within Workday and external users will access the LMS through a specific link.


  • Use the search tab within the LMS to find courses and enroll. You can view and cancel courses, and view and print transcripts directly from your dashboard.
  • Some courses require supervisor approval. You will be placed in pending status until approval is received. Your supervisor will receive notification of your enrollment request.
  • Upon approval, you will receive an email confirmation of your enrollment. You will now find the course information and materials under "My Tasks" on your LMS dashboard.
  • External users please complete the PDS Course Enrollment form and send it to to request enrollment.
  • Please contact PDS Training if you have any special needs or accommodations.

To enroll in New Horizons courses as a State employee, contact your Training Liaison to set up enrollment to ensure you receive State pricing.

  • Then, watch the video How to Complete Training and Navigate this System located located on your Dashboard in the 'My Tasks' section. It is essential you watch this short video to understand how to sign up for courses.
