Modernization of the Classification & Compensation System

DAS Human Resources Enterprise is undertaking a comprehensive review of the State’s job classifications and series guidelines. This modernization effort is designed to ensure that classifications and compensation ranges are appropriately structured to meet the needs of our workforce. The goal is to reduce redundancy, align job descriptions with current and emerging workforce needs, and maintain a clear, effective classification system. This may involve consolidating existing classifications and, in some cases, creating new ones to reflect evolving areas of work.

With more than 800 job classifications under review, we are prioritizing classification series with enterprise-wide impact. This will be a long-term initiative that aligns with EO10 requirements and may involve considerations related to collective bargaining. Throughout the process, we will engage agency stakeholders and provide regular updates on our progress.

Any requests for classification changes submitted to DAS-HRE are being evaluated within the context of this broader review. If your agency is considering changes to existing indigenous classifications, please collaborate with your Human Resources Consultant (HRC) for review and recommendations.

For questions, please reach out to your assigned HRC.
