Training and Development Specialist
Kim joined DAS-HRE as a training specialist in May 2016. In this role, Kim creates, schedules, and conducts training for employees; serves as a training resource for management; develops courses; and counsels employees on training opportunities. She has a passion for leadership and organizational development. Kim brings over 15 years of professional development and leadership experience. She earned her Master of Science degree in Adult Learning and Organizational Performance (ALOP) from Drake University with an emphasis on leadership and training. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Iowa State University. She is a member of National Staff Development and Training Association.
During her career, Kim has served as a Training Specialist 1 for the State of Iowa’s Woodward Resource Center and a Human Services Specialist II – instructional designer/facilitator/PS-MAPP coordinator with the Child Welfare Project at Iowa State University. Her background includes being a Program and Online Training consultant with Bridge of Hope National in Exton, Pa., a Social Worker II with the Iowa Department of Human Services, Pre-Service Adoption Trainer with Iowa State University, a Development Assistant with North Central Human Services, and an Employment/Training Specialist with North Iowa Area Community College.
