FARMERS MARKET RETURNS TO THE IOWA CAPITOL COMPLEX

DES MOINES – The popular farmers market showcasing Iowa products is returning to the Iowa Capitol Complex this year beginning Tuesday, June 13. The market will run every Tuesday through September 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., except for July 4, on E. 13th Street between E. Walnut and E. Grand Avenue. The second annual season begins earlier this year than last and will feature both new and returning vendors.
The market continues to be a cooperative effort by the Iowa Department of Administrative Services, the Iowa Department of Public Health, and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. The market supports Iowa vendor-grown and homemade products. “We are pleased to bring the farmers market back to the complex this year to offer Iowa homegrown products, and we invite our area neighbors to enjoy the market too,” said Janet Phipps, director of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services.
