State of Iowa Office Closings

DES MOINES — Due to the threat of flooding, several commercial spaces leased by State of Iowa departments are taking action. Below is a listing of impacted departments and addresses. Every effort is being taken to ensure that there is no interruption of service to customers.

As further details regarding temporary locations of affected departments evolve, the public will be notified.

401 SW 7th Street (all offices are vacating)

  • Dept of Revenue (Property Appeals Board)
  • Department of Natural Resources (Water Supply & Field Office 5 – moving to Wallace and Air Quality)
  • Office of Drug Control Policy
  • Department of Human Services (Income Training Academy)

920 Morgan Street (warehousing, no vital offices, all vacating)

  • Iowa Department for the Blind
  • Iowa Department of Revenue (removal of vital documents)
  • State Archives (Department of Cultural Affairs)

400 SW 8TH (all vacating)

  • Department of Human Services (Case Management, Bureau Collections, ICAR)
  • Iowa Department of Public Health (Nursing, Dental, Medical and Pharmacy)

535 SW 7TH (all vacating)

  • IVRS (Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services)
  • DDS (Disability Determination Services)

601 SW 9TH (vacating and relocating)

  • Department of Human Services (Collections Services Center) – possibly to Hoover TBD)

River Hills (none vacating)

  • Iowa Utilities Board (350 Maple)
  • Consumer Advocate (310 Maple)
  • Insurance (330 Maple)

200 E. Grand (no decision made concerning vacating)

  • Iowa Department of Economic Development
  • Commerce Credit Union
  • Commerce Banking

150 Des Moines Street

  • Iowa Workforce Development (moving to 430 East Grand)
