DES MOINES — State officials have isolated the problem which caused the malfunction of electrical equipment at the State Capitol today. The issue related to two banks of switchgear panels in the sub-basement of the Capitol. There will be some restoration of power yet this afternoon; electrical power tests are being administered in both buildings and will continue for the remainder of the day. Agency directors will receive a briefing today as to direction on returning employees to work tomorrow, Friday, August 24.
