Project Request Summary

P-001-FY06-DOC (ICON - Iowa Corrections Offender Network)
Project Summary:

Staff within the Department of Corrections will have real time information required to deal effectively with offenders. The ability to track offenders, treatment plans, transfers, work assignments, medical treatment and other offender data will greatly enhance work process and reduce duplicate data entry.

P-002-FY06-DEA (Iowa SEAMLESS Resource Center)
Project Summary:

The Iowa SEAMLESS project is sponsored by Elder Affairs (DEA) to promote client access to service for its target population of elderly. SEAMLESS enables DEA to cross departmental and program boundaries by being able to intake a client profile and provide the necessary data to different service programs for eligibility analysis and service intake. This provides Iowas elderly population with an open door methodology to access services.

P-003-FY06-BOP (IPAROLE-ICON Integration Project )
Project Summary:

This proposal is for integration of the Iowa Corrections Offender Network (ICON) and Iowa Parole Automated Records On LinE (IPAROLE) data systems used by Iowa Corrections and Iowa Board of Parole to improve the efficiency of releasing inmates from prison once the Board of Parole (BOP) approves a work release or parole.

P-004-FY06-DOR & DHR (Enterprise Data Warehouse)
Project Summary:

The Teradata Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) creates a commonality across a platform, establishing the ability to directly link data from multiple agencies in common use applications. Each agency maintains authority over its data, assuring the integrity and security of who and how the information is accessed, utilizing diverse external and internal databases to answer key business questions.

P-005-FY06-DAS (DAS Billing and MIS)
Project Summary:

Currently each DAS Enterprise uses different software and processes for billing. Each software program is very limited in their features necessary to support our customers needs. DAS Customers need both billing and utilization information to help simplify their services billing and to better plan for services and costs.

P-006-FY06-DOR (Electronic Tax Administration )
Project Summary:

The Electronic Tax Administration initiative (ETA) will continue to leverage recent investments in technology made by the Iowa Department of Revenue (IDR) to migrate paper based filing/payment processes to Electronic Services offered to our customers. The primary areas of emphasis for FY 06 include: 1. E-File applications will be developed to encourage electronic filing of tax returns filed by partnerships, corporations and estates.2. Marketing and Education, and 3. Process Re-Engineering.

P-007-FY06-DHS (DHS HIPAA SECURITY AND IT STRATEGY DIRECTION)
Project Summary:

The focus of DHS’s efforts since 2000 when a HIPAA assessment was performed encompasses not only electronic standard transactions (now successfully complete) but Privacy and Security dimensions for the Department as a whole.

P-008-FY06-ICN (Capitol Complex PBX Technology Upgrade)
Project Summary:

Project funds are being requested to continue the effort of comprehensively reviewing and evaluating the practices, processes, and procedures related to professional practitioner licensing. To the extent possible, develop improved processes that permit and facilitate licensing automation.

P-009-FY06-DAS & DOM (I/3 Implementation Transition Funding)
Project Summary:

The aging of the Capitol Complex Telecommunication Systems have been a top design priority for a number of years. The ICN has looked at the funds involved, advanced services desired by the customers, and what systems/hardware that is available to do the job that is required. This project is Phase I of a three-phased project. Phase I will update the technology to approximately 3000 users of the Capitol Complex Telecommunication System.
