Outlook Web Access Service

ITE is pleased to offer agencies the use of our front-end web servers for the access of Microsoft Exchange email. This offering is available to any agency that is currently running Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003 and that is part of the centralized Active Directory Forest.

Key Features and Benefits

Outlook Web Access (OWA) provides agencies with a mechanism to check your email and calendar from remote locations using an Internet browser. Microsoft makes most of the functions and features of Outlook available in Outlook Web Access, so it can become a valuable tool for traveling, work-from-home, or roaming users. Most modern browsers are acceptable, but the most robust experience will only be achieved by people using Internet Explorer. The connection across the Internet for OWA is secured using SSL certificates so staff is able to access email securely.

This service is being made available to agencies at a flat rate that is billed monthly. The rate will be based upon an agency’s size when they begin to use the service. The total number of agency staff with email will be multiplied by $0.11 to derive the monthly cost to the agency. The previous rate for this service was $0.25, but due to the overwhelming participation in this service, we are now able to reduce our rates.

This reduced rate assumes that we will bill for all mailboxes, not just those that may use the service. This is being done so that we might offer the lowest cost because we are not required to spend staff time with monthly billing variances and reconciliation activities. (An agency of 200 staff with email would pay only $22.00 per month.) This rate will take effect on July 1st, 2005.

For agencies that already subscribe to this service, new agreements will be sent reflecting the rate reduction that is effective on July 1st , 2005.
